Steve Perry interviews me about the green shoots of recovery, EFCA, liberal austerity, grading the stimulus/bailout, contrasts with the New Deal, etc.: “Stabilization is a good thing, but it doesn’t equal recovery.”

I am one of those “starry eyed” Obamabots infused with Obamamania, and I have to say given the criticism he received during the Democratic primary one wouldn’t have believed he could have done the stimulus package.
And he had Stiglitz and Krugman over for dinner. The big question for me are the new financial regulations promised for this year. That’s where the rubber will hit the road, I mean Obama was angry black man pissed off at Chrysler’s greedy bondholders who where holding out for a better deal and he never gets angry. The problem with the banks and Wall Street is that they have us in a hostage situation where if they fail there will be “systemic risk.”

Obama was described as “the most dangerous smooth talker on the planet- and I knew Kissinger.” by anonymous Chrysler creditor holdouts – not sympathetic people, but also privy to first hand experience.
The good people of North West Pakistan are just beginning to find that out.
But , we know better – since he went to one of the most elite private high schools in the country , Columbia, and Harvard – he really relates to ‘the people’ , after all (?) !

He was a community organizer on the south side of Chicago where yes he did work with “the people.” The change was too slow, so he went into state politics. God some people are so cynical.

Pretty crappy piece, which isn’t suprising coming from Coutnerpunch. When you debate you should take your opponents strongest points. Has Obama and his team done anything in the first 100 days? The Republican party destroyed itself with Obama’s help, Obama is pulling out of Iraq, and they prevented, in concert with other major governments, the global economy from falling into a deflationary trap and depression.

@PP: he is also singlehandedly de-wussifying america and bailing the economy out by bombing the crap out of afghanistan and perpetrating military-grade(pun intended) keynesianism.

500 bombs a month probably means a few hundred(if not thousand) jobs saved, probably.
