S&P: foreign agents

So the lead analyst on the S&P downgrade of the U.S. Treasury is based in…Toronto! What, they were afraid to have an American do the work?

  1. I used to work with the guy. Perhaps S&P wanted a competent, “neutral” manager on the file. I’m curious to know the full story behind S&P’s decision to downgrade. It took me by surprise.
